Shop Small, Shop Salisbury! Check out our Indies for gorgeous gifts.

Updated: Jun 19

Over the past few years, many Salisbury businesses have shut up shop, but we're lucky to have a brilliant selection of Indies that are the backbone of our beautiful city.

To celebrate Small Business Saturday on the 3rd of December, we should continue to support our fantastic local independent shops.

So while considering your Christmas purchases this year, why not ditch Amazon and superstores in favour of experiencing the beautiful festive decorations and warm welcome you receive when you shop small?

We've listed below a few of our favourites. Each Salisbury business has a bricks & mortar shop and a website you can browse.

Salisbury High Street

You'll discover this fabulous shop on the High Street, nestling close to the Cathedral Gate entrance. Always beautifully decorated for Christmas, the gorgeous window display draws you into this fantastic shop.

Full of fine china, vintage and chic homeware, glassware, ceramics, sumptuous cushions and other beautiful gifts, The owner and staff are friendly and helpful, and you'll find pieces you won't see elsewhere. Buying from the website - there's free delivery for purchases over £50.

If you want unique and beautiful Christmas decorations, pop into Casa Fina and see the complete collection.

Wander a little further up the High Street to Timber Treasures, where you'll discover an exciting treasure trove of wooden carved items for the kitchen, garden and home.

Some of these lovely pieces are hand-carved by the owner and produced using locally sourced timber, and there is something to suit all budgets in this beautiful gift shop.

They've added new stock to their range of beautiful wall plaques and puzzle boxes that make delightful Christmas Gifts. Timber Treasures offer HM Forces and NHS discounts.

OSO Boutique

This award-winning boutique offers an unmissable selection of carefully curated, stylish, and easy-to-wear ladies' clothing, jewellery, shoes and accessories.

Oh, So Chic jewellery at great prices!

OSO is the shop to visit if you want exquisitely made scarves and hats.

Colourful, warm, practical accessories at great prices and knowledgeable and helpful staff.

Get cosy with OSO's beautiful Alpaca knitwear and plush snuggly slippers this winter.

Fisherton Street

Fisherton Mill

At 108 Fisherton street is one of Salisbury's most successful small businesses, incorporating an art gallery, gift shop and cafe.

This business is worth exploring, where you will discover many unique handcrafted gifts that don't break the bank.

Shop online to find ceramics, homeware, accessories, sculptures, painting and prints. All are designed and made by UK artisans.

The Maltings

The Crystal Shop

So many beautiful things! There's an extensive range of silver and gemstone jewellery, as well as a selection of 9ct gold bracelets, rings, pendants, studs, earrings and necklaces—something for everyone and different price points.

Although this is not strictly independent, they have recently celebrated their 35th anniversary, and the shop is run by friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Yoga Stuff

A first for Salisbury, this lovely bijou shop stocks great activewear, Yoga equipment and well-being products. Not just for Yoga lovers - check out dairy-free chocolate and lots of fabulous bath and body products!

You are sure of a warm welcome and a cup of Chai; the owner, Ilona, is also a yoga teacher.

Beautiful yoga bags and activewear at Yoga Stuff.

When you shop small, you get that feel-good vibe you don't get from shopping in a big brand store. And supporting small independents means you are buying from a business owner that makes ethical decisions and has their customers' needs at heart.

If you choose to buy locally, it allows you to build great relationships that you don't experience in larger stores. Shopping small allows for a more positive and personal shopping experience, plus you are supporting your local community.

With the spiralling costs of petrol, food, heating our homes, and business premises, why not buy a bespoke gift from Artisans who produce and promote sustainable products and are part of our wonderful Salisbury community? Buying locally also minimises your carbon footprint.

For originality and choice, you can't beat our Salisbury Independents. Visit them and give them your support - you can make a difference.
